Get Advice Early
The saying “a stitch in time saves nine” applies just as much to legal problems as to everything else. The advantage of taking advice early is that we can explain to you in clear language where you stand and how best to try to resolve your problem. This might include dealing with it yourself rather than us but in the knowledge that if that does not work, we are there to help. Taking someone to Court is the very last resort and there are often more cost effective ways of dealing with a problem. For instance, in building disputes, it may be possible to agree that an independent surveyor is appointed who will consider the problem and make a decision on who is right and what, if any, compensation should be paid. This would be a much cheaper and straightforward option than issuing legal proceedings.
As we have been handling general legal problems for over 20 years, we are likely to have dealt with a similar problem to yours in the past and can usually tell you the problems and pitfalls and what is likely to happen.
If the problem can’t be resolved and Court proceedings are required, your chances of a successful outcome are likely to be much higher if we have been involved from the start.
